ABOUT MALLACOOTA
Mallacoota is a small very pretty fishing village situated about 500km from Melbourne and located in a Unesco World Biosphere area.

There are many things to do: bush walk, kayak, wind surf, surf board, sail, motor boat, fishing, picnics or just plain winding down.

We have a chemist, 3 doctors, a Bistro at the Hotel, one at the Golf Club and one more 15km away.3 cafes, video shop, hotel, golf club, a bowling club with artifical greens and club rooms with bar. One up market restaurant that also has takeaway pasta. One takeaway Pizza,fish & chips and Chinese.2 supermarkets, one with B.O.M. A post office with Commonwealth Bank, teller machine, 2 hairdressers(working from home), butcher, sports store, 2 op shops, newsagency, 2 bait & tackle(one at Shell garage), 2 gift shops, at least 4 private art galleries, 2 boat hires, one ferry&one leisure craft taking people sightseeing on the lake,private charters, kayak & water eq. hire. there is a launderette, bakery , bush nurse, hardware store, 2 garages, outboard repairs, and probably a few things I have forgotten.

Telstra and Optus mobiles work here within a limited area.

The nearest vet is 100km away, as is a dentist, otherwise we seem to manage OK.
